Imagine how perfect a Saturday can be, drinking coffee in front of a colonial window where the sunlight shines in, while reading your favorite book... Spectacular. All this and more, you can find it in this unusual coffee shop, in the middle of the city of Merida, Yucatan. Where yellow stands out at all times, showing in its walls, dishes, furniture, and even in its feel. This place goes by the name of La Esquina Amarilla, and is one of the best coffee shops in Mérida, its 5/5 rating on Tripadvisor and Google Maps proves it.

La Esquina Amarilla was born in 2018 with a very clear concept, which was to celebrate the Mexican endemic species using design as a central element. The concept grows and is complemented by the creation of a cafeteria; thanks to this concept, we can see the clear branding of the place. In addition to the cafeteria, it is a shop, where you can find local design products inspired by three totems: Xolo, Dalia, and Ajolote. The products are varied and for all tastes, fabric bags, hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, and much more. The concept influences both architecture and fashion, making it a coffee shop with a unique style and a perceptible personality.

The branding is perceptibly well thought and coherent with its initial idea, providing a clear identity to the place, showing its personality through the products. This personality is the main point of distinction, achieving the goal of not being a simple coffee shop, but a coffee shop that gives life to the brand.

Located in an old colonial house in the center city of Merida, Yucatan, La Esquina Amarilla has an area of 19 m2, used and designed down to the last corner. Starting from the same concept, the idea with the place was to preserve the Mexican tradition and transfer it to the space that was meant to be inhabited.

Being located in a famous state for its materials, they were encouraged to highlight its identity through the use of materials from the region, such as henequen, which can be seen in the light fixtures; the traditional pasta floor; and finally its height, which is typical in houses of this era, this height in combination with its large windows allow the entry of natural light, creating a typical atmosphere of Merida.

The food also does not leave aside the central theme of Mexicanity, we can find a delicious Oaxacan coffee. The food is a fusion of various regions of the country, Yucatecan honey, corn from the center of the country, tropical fruit, and many other carefully prepared dishes. As we can see, the identity of the place remains intact even in their dishes.

Good food, good coffee and excellent products that support local consumption, are some of the reasons why we invite you to visit La Esquina Amarilla; a place where you will not only acquire a product, but an experience that we assure you are going to love!
