Located in the Mejorada neighborhood in Mérida, Yucatán, the Casona DECU by DARC Arquitectura stands as a living testimony of architecture that has endured over time. With the distinctive seal of its architects, this residential restoration project has managed to reinterpret its original essence with a palette of green tones that harmoniously fuses the colonial and the contemporary.
A Chromatic that Tells Stories
The choice of green is no coincidence in the Casona DECU. Inspired by the old pasta floor, whose original green needed to be replaced, the architects decided to take this color to new levels. This nuance becomes the common thread that weaves the visual narrative of the house, from the architectural elements to the interior design details.
Central Courtyard: The Heart that Beats Green
The central patio of the Casona DECU emerges as a transitional space, a bridge between two architectural eras. Here, the colonial essence meets contemporaneity in a visual dance of artisanal elements and murals, all imbued with the green color that defines the identity of this project.
Handcrafted Care in Every Detail
The restoration of the Casona DECU was not just a matter of painting. Every detail, from the finishes to the kitchen elements, was conceived with artisanal meticulousness. This meticulous approach not only seeks to revive the authentic essence of the mansion, but also gracefully adapt it to a contemporary style that honors its rich history.
Photography by Luis Duarte: Capturing the Essence in Green
Luis Duarte's lens becomes the perfect ally to immortalize the green essence of the Casona DECU. His photographs reveal the magic of this fusion between past and present, providing a visual window that invites you to immerse yourself in the details and unique atmosphere of this project.
Strategically located in the Mejorada neighborhood, the Casona DECU is not only an architectural project, but a tribute to the cultural wealth of Mérida. The restoration of this mansion is harmoniously integrated into the historical fabric of the city, enriching the architectural heritage of Yucatán.
A Green that Talks about History and Future
Casona DECU, through its green color, not only paints its walls, but also a story that speaks of resilience, artisanal care and an intrinsic connection between the past and the present. This architectural project invites us to reflect on how renewal can be an act of preservation, and how green can be more than a color: it can be a window open to time.
